This came in handy for at least two types of people operating in hip-hop’s urban breeding ground: graffiti writers and so-called stick-up kids or muggers. Motherwear a clothing company that caters to breastfeeding mothers now offers a hoodie with two side flaps perhaps reflecting the jacket’s utter domestication. And so the hoodie manages to balance somewhere between defiance and comfort. But that reflects its roots.
