But if he is famous for anything it is for blowing chances turning away from the bright lights down unmarked byways in search of his own truth. “Absorption in music is a way of having a spiritual experience for me” he has said of his wayward career. “Music has a life of its own. Scott’s musical life began with the short-lived Edinburgh punk band Another Pretty Face in 1978. Dropping out of university the multi-instrumentalist knocked about the new-wave scene before forming the Waterboys in 1982 a floating ensemble that has included more than 30 musicians across the years. Their first two albums won admirers a manifesto of sorts unfolding on one song The Big Music a metaphor for Scott’s soul-searching quest to lose and find himself in his art. In 1985 the epic album This Is the Sea was hailed as a classic blending the rock of U2 and Echo and the Bunnymen with folk flavourings courtesy of virtuoso Irish fiddler Steve Wickham and eloquent lyrics that drew comparison with Bob Dylan and W B Yeats.

My Chemical Romance rose to prominence among the emo and neo-punk bands that cluttered the rock landscape in 2000 thanks in part to I’m Not K (I Promise) a surging piece of emo pop with a hook as ridiculously catchy as its title. I Don’t Love You is the third single written by the band and produced by Rob Cavallo. Its accompanying video now available at all music channels as well as the uber-chic Youtube. com is one of the most highly-anticipated music videos of the year.
