It’s like a Kelley Clarkson-style song laced with trappings of the Ashlee Simpson brand of like so badass (read: fluffy and contrived) sexuality. Avril Lavigne has chucked the whole idea of marketing herself as a serious musician which given the eye-rolls her name tends to induce seems like a pretty damn good idea. Like punk music? Stay the fuck away. But if you’re waiting with bated breath for the next Linsday Lohan album to debut Lavigne could definitely keep you satisfied for the time being. Listening to The Best Damn Thing won’t make you vomit. Then again Avril Lavigne’s latest contribution to the world of bubblegum diet punk won’t make you feel at all like you’re listening to uh Avril Lavigne.
