According to documents obtained by MTV News Saregama India — which filed a similar copyright-infringement suit in 2002 against then-Aftermath artist Truth Hurts — claims the duo used the song without its permission and also cites a number of additional parties including Aftermath Entertainment G-Unit Records and producer Danjahandz who co-produced the track. The company is suing for a yet-undetermined sum… Legendary punk rockers the Sex Pistols have announced that they’ll squeeze into their bondage pants again for one night only on November 8 at the Brixton Academy in London for a 30th anniversary celebration of the release of their landmark 1977 album Never Mind the Bollocks. Singer Jarrod Gorbel moved from breathy laments to edge-of-tears shouts while his backing music mixed acoustic guitars light atmospherics and barely-there drumming. It was hard to take Gorbel's lyrics seriously. As soon as "Thin Layer" the opener to the band's third album Scream and Light up the Sky starts however it's clear the former duo now a four-piece has grown up. The drums are a loud new-wave jackhammer while the electric guitar leads wrap around the acoustics like bright indie-pop Christmas lights and Gorbel's voice while still "emotional" now recalls pouty '80s rock icons. The band touches on speedy pop-rock ("Untouched and Intact") charged-up dance-floor pleasers ("The City's Summer") punchy waltzes ("Wait Until I'm Gone") and slow acoustic jams ("Even If")… Goo Goo Dolls There are parallels between the Replacements and the Goo Goo Dolls. A smart-ass punk stance and a visceral sonic attack initially defined both bands. They crossed paths when the Dolls opened for the 'Mats farewell tour marking Johnny Rzeznik's maturation as a performer and songwriter. But Rzeznik's maturation bloomed into full-blown stardom. "We Are the Normal" co-written with the 'Mats' Paul Westerberg was a minor hit and 1993's Superstar Car Wash became the Goo Goo Dolls' commercial breakthrough leading to huge hits like "Name" "Iris" and "Here Is Gone" and the 1998 smash album Dizzy Up the Girl. For their eighth album Let Love In Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac returned from LA to their hometown Buffalo New York to write most of the songs together something they hadn't done since Superstar Car Wash.
