It is the tip of a strong visual arts program with 25 exhibitions throughout the state. Feast will also take over the artists’ fair at the Rundle St Markets on November 11 with roving performers and information tents. The music section is just as diverse ranging from the launch of Perth singer Claire Clarke’s album at the opening-night party to Melbourne "electrorganic" pop band Glovebox. "We’ve got a fantastic Japanese transgender rockabilly punk band coming from Tokyo called Ikochi" Clarke says. Ikochi promises an act which goes "from swoon to mosh in 60 seconds". As well as its artistic smorgasbord Feast will continue to have community events dance parties and forums aimed specifically at the queer community. "Of course there’s some challenging stuff and there’s some political stuff in it" Clarke says… Feast will also take over the artists’ fair at the Rundle St Markets on November 11 with roving performers and information tents. Van Halen relives best of good ol’ days
Providence Journal – Oct 6, 2007
Roth’s replacement with Hagar was an object lesson in being careful what you wish for. It should have worked — it didn’t. Roth may have lost some of the athleticism in his trademark spinning kicks but his persona — a combination of toreador seen-it-all burlesque queen and judo-period Elvis — once again proved indispensable to the music. Eddie Van Halen looked like a post-punk G. Joe but bounded across the stage with his trademark exuberance and his guitar solos were as usual jaw-dropping. His big solo spotlight was notable for the relative lack of his trademark two-handed tapping with his volume-knob manipulation (resulting in a sound emulating a string section) most impressive.

(Pop) One of the rudest things you can ever say about a pop record is that it’s overproduced. We have all said it at some point in our lives often before the age of 20 when you must repeatedly demonstrate to your contemporaries that you can hear the subtle differences between say Deep Purple and Boney M. In the punk years and afterwards ‘overproduced’ was often used to describe any record that had been produced at all. In the late 1980s though overproduction became the norm. Bands like Tears For Fears were famous for spending weeks perfecting a computerised drum sound when really a long holiday on a beach.

Supposeably members Alice and Ethin were unaware their studio fun was being recorded when single “Alice’s Practice” turned-up on someone’s Myspace player and the rest is history. The duo trade-off on thrashing punk-metal vocals and if it sounds like someone is playing Asteroids in the background that’s because Ethin has an actual Atari 5200 sound chip in his keyboard. Crystal Castles makes their first Bay Area headlining appearance after touring with The Presets and Metric. Folks can expect a full length debut to hit stores in early 2008. Toxic Avenger is a remix anti-superhero of sorts. Hiding behind various guises when he hits the turntables hasn’t diminished his notoriety… Toxic Avenger is a remix anti-superhero of sorts.
