Dave Feldman leads a Wyldlife
Baruch College The Ticker NY
jpg” >Media Credit: Ben ShapiroDave Feldman was destined to play music. Well maybe not destined but it certainly seemed like an appropriate path for the Baruch College sophomore who grew up listening to his father’s “huge record collection” and watching his brother Kurt play in numerous bands while garnering a love for punk rock from his brother Mike. Feldman says “Mike gave me that first very very basic taste of the late 70′s punk while Kurt had been and is still supplying me with 80′s post-punk music both of which are my two favorite types of music and I suppose their traces can be found in Wyldlife. Wyldlife is the band that Feldman fronts which includes Sam Allen (guitar) Dave Kinney (guitar) Max Hamlin (bass) and Tyler Houston (drums) whom he met in the 7th grade after realizing that they all had a love for “Star Wars old 70′s punk and skateboarding. ” After spending years playing music with his brothers in their basement Feldman felt that it was a natural progression to create a band of his own with his group of friends. Their first foray into the music world as a group came with their band The Cokes with Feldman on drums and writing all the lyrics which he remembers as “so middle-school-ish and embarrassing. ” After playing at middle school events and birthday parties for a year Feldman fell out of the band.
Leiana: No Going Back – Music Review

“Da Vault” is a dreamy side of them with slow rock instrumentals; “Can’t Reply” and “Me Again” are great examples of some great punk rock delight. To be completely truthful Leiana reminded me a bit of the clich?ritish invasion punk sound we’re all familiar with. “Unkind” at first listen seems like a song you can’t help but move to from the very first few seconds but once the singing kicks in it actually interrupts the high level energy just as in “Whichside” maybe it’s the lyrics that don’t work or the unintentional monotone result within the verses but sometimes it just doesn’t work. therwise Leiana has true potential. With better vocals and more catchy tunes Leiana could grow to be more engaging and entertaining.
