But Jeff’s victory was short-lived. As JR got in the ring to conduct a celebratory interview – CM Punk’s music hit and two GTS finishers later he was holding the WWE title belt. Another man celebrating on the night was Batista – Raw’s new heavyweight champ. He beat rton in a quick cage match but one which was actually better for having a short time limit. The Animal – rumoured to be carrying an injury – was explosive from the start. As rton was trying to escape the cage or avoid his clutches – hanging onto the steel at one point – Dave kept dragging him back before finally hitting the Batista Bomb for the three count.
